Lead Artist

Snobal is seeking an experienced Lead Artist to help develop our 3D virtual learning platform using Unity 3D game engine. The role involves collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, including instruction designer, other artists and developers to create high quality virtual learning experiences, primarily for deployment to Web and also Head Mounted Displays such as Rift, Vive, Gear.

Here’s a short- though not exhaustive list – of some of the areas you’ll be responsible for:

The role

You will:

  • Work with the team to develop and story-board concepts from existing course materials or new courses from scratch
  • Asset creation – ‘realist’ 3D models as well as textures and 2D UI
  • Character rigging / animations
  • Lighting and particle effects useful
  • Optimisation and efficient workflow
  • Development/Coding skills a bonus
  • Great communication skills
  • Actively contribute to sprints and work in progress meetings
  • Developing clever solutions for complex projects
  • Effectively communicating with an multidisciplinary  team
  • Experience with Virtual Reality environments (desirable)
  • Experience with publishing to WebGL
  • Experience optimising assets and libraries
  • Unity Engine experience
  • Leading the art development and managing other creative artists in the process
  • At least 2 years professional game design experience or equivalent school/independent project experience.
