Snobal Media Resources

At a glance

Snobal creates VR Tools for business. Our VR Tools enables organisations engage, collaborate and sell their ideas faster.

Our insight

As humans we are biologically primed to make meaning from the world in 3D, yet so much of what we do at work is still try and make meaning and communicating our ideas via images, video, 2D drawings, spreadsheets and text. There is often a need for technical knowledge by people to understand these plans, drawings, schematics and this can create misunderstanding and gaps in knowledge transfer and understanding. Snobal’s VR Tools  empowers organisations and teams to collaborate, co-create and transfer knowledge in interactive virtual reality.

Our backstory

Snobal is a Melbourne based virtual reality (VR) company that creates VR Tools for business.

Snobal was founded in September 2014 by Ann Nolan and Murray James. However, the journey to Snobal started a couple of years before that when Murray with his architectural visualisation and retail design background and Ann with her academic, digital transformation and digital strategy background, explored how they could best use 3D environments  to empower businesses to communicate and collaborate faster and easier. Initially Snobal’s focus was on the retail sector, specifically eCommerce but it soon became clear that the technology had applications to diverse sectors.

In March 2017 HTC Corporation announced Snobal as one of 33 companies chosen for its global ViveX Accelerator.

In May 2017 Snobal was invited to join the IBM Global Entrepreneurs program. This program will assist Snobal address new market opportunities, integrate the IBM cognitive computing platform AI, Watson into Snobal’s VR Tools and enable Snobal to leverage on IBM’s infrastructure, software, experience, and reach to bring its VR Tools to a global market.
