The Pico Neo 3 Eye is an all-in-one solution designed to support virtual reality and augmented reality (XR) experiences. It is a completely wireless solution.
The Pico Neo 3 was released in mid-July 2021 by Pico Interactive and features:
6 DOF room-scale tracking
DOF means Degrees Of Freedom or the number of “directions” that an object can move in 3D space. 6DOF headsets know where you are looking and also where you are in the virtual space. This is also referred to as roomscale or positional tracking.
98 degrees high fidelity FOV
FOV or Field of View is how much of the environment is observable at any given time. The wider the field of view, the more the user will feel as if they are “in” the virtual experience.

Built-in eye-tracking and foveated rendering
Rather than render the entire scene in a VR experience in maximum detail all the time and thereby require a lot of GPU off the headset foveated rendering is where the VR headset tracks where the viewer’s eye (or fovea to be precise) is and renders only this part thereby ensuring GPU of the headset isn’t wasted rendering parts of a virtual environment the viewer can only see from their peripheral vision.
