Snobal use Amazon EC2 for our servers. Currently the company provision separate EC2s for each customer and choose an AWS region that is closest to the customers place of business.

Currently Snobal have servers deployed in Sydney and Singapore but servers in can be deployed to any AWS’s region(s) to best suit the customer’s needs, for example US West Coast, US East Coast, Ireland etc.

Each AWS region has multiple “availability zones” which you can think of as physically distinct data centres. For each tenant, Snobal deploy EC2s in multiple data centres to reduce the risk of downtime due to the loss of a physical data centre.
